Even though Houston is only a four hour drive from Dallas, I hadn’t spent much time in the city until one of my best friends moved down there. I hadn’t been down in about a year plus said friend is super duper pregnant, so I headed down over the weekend. It was my first night away from Campbell and as much as I love him, it was so nice to have some time away from my stinky. Since I didn’t have to worry about sticking to his schedule, we had the freedom to eat, shop and sleep wherever and whenever we wanted.
We ate at Adair Kitchen for lunch and I can’t stop thinking about the Lemon Artichoke soup. We also swung by High Fashion Home and Biscuit where I picked up a few gifts for Campbell. Houston has so many cool gift and home stores. We need more like them in Dallas. We ended the day with dinner at Uchi. I am not the biggest Japanese food enthusiast, but I have to tell you, it was so delicious. Thank goodness there is an Uchi in Dallas because I am already fiending for the sashimi and goat cheese. They also had the best peanut butter and jelly dessert (pictured above). Ughhhhhghgh I need to make reso’s stat…and so do you!!
