Whether it’s a vintage pair of 501’s, 505’s or the new and fabulous “Wedgie Fit”, Levi’s have the ability to flatter a girl’s frame- particularly her butt. Yes yes, all of these girls in the pictures are model skinny, but I am not and I can tell you they’re still ultra flattering on a “normal” bod.
Teen Vogue’s former Editor in Chief, Amy Astley, has taken over the reigns of Architectural Digest & her first issue- the style issue no less- brings us into the homes of some of fashion’s most influential names. There is Marc Jacobs’ art filled townhouse, Giovanna Battaglia’s surprisingly eclectic Swedish apartment and my most favorite- Amanda Brooks’ farmhouse in the Cotswolds.

Packing has become much more challenging now that I have to pack for a little monster as well as myself. I’ve got to be cutthroat with my choices. Luckily, we are in Sea Island where I can spend the majority of my day in a swimsuit and coverup so my bag has much more room for stuffed animals, diapers, books, pool floats…etc. Oh how times have changed!!
I recently bought art from Logan Ledford, an artist out of New Orleans who uses bright and bold colors throughout her work. I put it in our den which is full of neutrals and I cannot tell you how much it brightened up the space! Our den basically looks like it started taking anti depressants. Now I kind of want to fill our whole house with colorful work! Here are a few of my new, very happy favorites.
I have to tell you, I have recently become the biggest Chrissy Teigen fan (yes yes, I said this post was about her denim game and I’ll get to that soon)! First off, from what I can gather from her visits on WWHL, hosting gig on Lip Sync Battle and her social media accounts, she seems hilarious. Second, her Instagram account is amazing. I’ve become obese just looking at all the glorious food she posts. How is she not 400 lbs?!? I should deduct cool points for that, but I won’t. And most importantly, she can style a pair of cutoffs like no other and frankly, isn’t that the most important quality any human can have?
I was so inspired by her Gucci kimono/robe and cutoffs situation seen on her aforementioned Insta account, that I actually tried to justify buying the $4400 robe for myself. I just love the how effortlessly cool it looks. While I’m getting a little too old..and flabby.. to wear cutoffs and a tiny tank, I love the idea throwing a kimono jacket over the look. And if you don’t do cutoffs, sport the look with jeans. While Chrissy’s kimono is heartstoppingly beautiful, it’s also kill yourself expensive, but luckily I’ve found alternatives …all under $200.
This beaded kimono from H&M is pretty insane and for $99, I might have to scoop it up. I also LOVE the print on this robe from Anthropologie (also under $100)! I also love this pretty blue version by Natalie Martin. Actually, check out everything Natalie Martin because the line is super cute. I’m mad I didn’t see it earlier so I could get a few things for my trip.
