Oh, Sienna!

This video is almost a year old and I’m not quite sure how I missed it. It could be because I was about to bring a bebe into the world or it could be because Vogue is now diluted with Kylie Jenner updates every 4 minutes, but either way, this video is greatness. Sienna Miller went from like number 10 on my girl crush list to tying for number 1 (Poppy Delevigne – her bff is also 1). She seems so down to earth – not in that “I’m Gwyneth Paltrow, and I swear I’m just one of you” way- but a normal person/mom who can make fun of herself and other celebrities. I love seeing little parts of her home. So British. And let’s not forget about the GIANT Damien Hirst in her living room. DROOLING.

Bedroom Inspiration | Sneak Peek

As someone with design ADD, my poor bedroom has gone through like 20 makeovers. I’ve gone through the “I can’t afford anything but Ikea” phase, the early Domino phase with black, white and chevron all over, the Moroccan phase (which I only got half way through), but now that we’ve moved, I’m ready to settle down on a look already! I don’t want anything trendy, I just want it to be calming, comfortable, a little eclectic with Parisienne apartment flair. Is that so hard to ask for? Here’s what I’m thinking…

The One Reason I Want to See The Intern

Have you seen previews for the new movie, The Intern? It’s the new Nancy Meyers film starring Anne Hathaway and Robert DeNiro. Nancy Meyers directed my all time favorite, Something’s Gotta Give so you would think I would want to see this, but I’ll be honest, I found nothing appealing about the previews…Until I saw Anne Hathaway’s character’s home.

Maison du Midgett Updates: The Den

One of the things I loved most about our house when we were house shopping was the built in shelves. But once we moved in, I was incredibly overwhelmed and intimidated. Shelf styling is my weakness!! I wanted to put it off, but my b.f., Annie forced me into styling. She was relentless. I tried to quit like four times, but I wasn’t allowed. Thank goodness she was there to help. Once the shelves were done, the rest of the room seemed like a breeze.

My New Favorite : Frances Loom

I have always dreamed of having a worn in antique rug for our house and I think I’ve finally found my source. Hallelujah! Frances Loom is a curated collection of “previously loved” Turkish, Persian and Oriental rugs at surprisingly reasonable prices. Founder, Kelly Vittengl … a self proclaimed “rug slinger”… has a knack for finding the coolest antique rugs to bring an effortlessly chic and cozy feel to your space. We have so many modern pieces and adding an antique piece like a rug would be a great way to make it look more eclectic and less “put together”.
