The other day, we were out at lunch and bumped into another mom wearing the coolest (and even better) easiest to replicate outfit. It was a basic look- jeans, a tee and sneakers (my go to mom look), but the pièce de résistance was her sleeveless coat. It made me want to get one as it could elevate a jeans and T shirt kind of day or like on Kendall Jenner, make a simple turtleneck and skinnies look even chicer.

Happy Tuesday. Hope y’all had a great Martin Luther King Day! We had a very laid back weekend which was very nice because our baby was a GRUMP. I don’t know if it was from a lingering ear infection or if he’s teething, but he mastered the mini temper tantrum this weekend. We did make it out of the house for a little family mall trip and I finally picked out my Christmas present from Matt. I went for a pair of black Chanel ballet flats in all black. I’m obsessed. Quick Sidetone: Speaking of Chanel, please read this crash and grab story about the Dallas Chanel store.
Any who, we had wallpaper installed in Campbell’s playroom yesterday which if you’ve ever had wallpaper put in, you know it takes hours and hours. So in between dodging Campy’s meltdowns, I found a new Celine purse and blogger to drool over thanks to Pinterest. God I love wasting time on that site. But it wasn’t all a waste, I found a couple of super cute spots for our girls’ trip to Charleston (coming this April!!!) like Sugar Bakery, Ro Sham Beaux and Candlefish. If you have any suggestions, we’d love to hear them!
Agh! I cannot believe my baby already had his first birthday party. Wahh A good friend once told me that when you have a baby, the days are long (sometimes unbearably long) and the months – and years- are short. Well, that is more true than I could have imagined. It seems like only yesterday we were taking Campbell home from the hospital.. and I was having my first anxiety attack about being a mother. And just one year later, I had another attack over his first party. I’m just kidding…it really wasn’t bad, but I did spend entirely too long on DIY party decorations.
In the past few months, I have developed a serious obsession with skincare products. Makeup has always been fun to me, but my actual skincare regime had mostly consisted of hand soap (yes on my face) and moisturizer. What I’ve learned from my new love so far is that skincare products can (and already have) make a difference in my tired looking skin. The other thing I’ve learned is that there are exactly one badrillion products out there and finding the right ones are confusing! So, I’ve done a little research and a little testing (um.. skincare is expensive) and have found 6 must have skin care products…for the time being.
Did y’all watch the Golden Globes last night? I thought they were pretty good actually. Ricky Gervais was so mean/hilarious, a few of my celebrity crushes like JLaw and Amy Schumer, Brad Pitt and Ryan Gosling were great presenting duos (maybe a four way hosting gig next year), Gaga and Cookie made great victory runs and the red carpet fashion was on point! At first, I was going to give my best dressed trophy to either Cate Blanchett in Givenchy or Kate Bosworth in Dolce & Gabbana (JLO & JLAW were pretty amazing too) but as the night went on and I caught more glimpses of Alicia Vikander in her sparkly Louis Vuitton apron dress, I developed a serious crush on it…and her!
My god, she’s gorgeous…and tan…oh and she dates Michael Fassbender. So there. Who was your best dressed on the red carpet??? Here are some other great looks from the Golden Globes if you need a refresher.
