Here’s a fun fact: Brigitte Bardot is responsible for ballet flats. Well, not the dance version, but the ones in your closet! For her role in And God Created Woman, Brigitte asked dance shoe maker, Rose Repetto, to make her a pair of ballet slippers with a durable sole. And bam! A classic was born. Isn’t it a coincidence that my favorite shoes are ballet flats!?!? Our similarities are freaky.
Like most of my shoes, I am pretty picky about my ballet shoes. They have to be the right shape…not too pointy, not too round and can’t be too low cut! I recently saw Lucky editor in chief, Eva Chen, wearing the cutest, most perfectly shaped blue gingham flats and I immediately went into shoe stalking mode. Come to find out they were Portuguese brand, Josefinas. Their designs are perfection. So many beautiful colors and prints. I’m drooling over so many of them, but I’m leaning towards the mint…or the gingham?? Uhhh, which ones do I choose!?? Brigitte, take the wheel!
