Beauty Game Changer: Vintner’s Daughter

September 26, 2016

vin-vdabs14-main

There are an estimated* 1 bajillion beauty products out there which can make it quite overwhelming when you’re trying to find the right products for your skin. I feel like I am on a constant quest to find that one product that will change my face, but it feels like I’m just chasing a unicorn. I always read reviews before buying anything, but it seems every product has an even mix of poor and rave reviews. But then I read about Vintner’s Daughter serum and it might just be what I’ve been looking for!

Vintner’s Daughter has been called “The face oil to end all face oils” by Into The Gloss, described as “An Instagram filter for your face” and  “A game changer”. I have read tons of reviews and the consensus seems to be the same: ultra hydrating, helps clear acne, evens your skin tone and texture and leaves your skin looking glowy. Sounds too good to be true right?!? Well the only downer is the price. $185 is quite steep, but I am determined to take the plunge…or at least add it to my birthday wish list!

Buy Vintner’s Daughter face oil here

oh *a bajillion might have been a slight overestimate.

Design Inspiration: Sant Ambroeus Artist Plate Wall

September 22, 2016

13694673_282711512109010_1377715543_nI have been wanting to do a plate wall since we moved into our new home, but it seems like a very frightening and daunting task. Mapping and measuring a space out, choosing the right plates and then getting them up on the wall seems like a serious project that I am not sure my brain can handle. Plus, what if I mess up or give up and there are nail holes everywhere. Ugh what a headache. But then I saw this picture of the artist plate wall at New York’s Sant Ambroeus and it made me want to get this project on the wall STAT!

The wall at Sant Ambroeus’ SoHo location is filled with commissioned plates created by artist’s “regulars” such as illustrator, Donald Robertson, potter and designer, Jonathan Adler and even Vogue editor, Anna Wintour. While I don’t think I will be able to commission many famous friends to make me plates, I still want to emulate the fun and organic pattern of the placement. And even if it ends up looking like a disaster, I won’t have any nail holes to fill. I have found adhesive plate hooks. Sooooo….here goes nothing!! I’ll let you know how it goes!

During NYFW, my Instagram feed is so inundated with blogger selfies, outfit details, after party pics, it makes it hard to find the important things like backstage shots and up close images of the actual collections (and of course the street style stars out and about). I’ve decided to filter through all of the Instagram pics and put together some of my favorite moments from Fashion Week. Hope you enjoy!

Les Bonbons

September 15, 2016

Les Bonbons

I am not usually a big earrings kind of gal. I used to be, but my husband has a bigger aversion to large earrings than he does to Sex and the City. (Party Pooper) But I’m finding it hard to resist Les Bonbons earrings any longer. Sorry husband, Created by Rebecca de Ravenel, these earrings will add charm and uber chicness to any look. Right now you can design your own Bonbons on Rebecca’s site! Arghhh what colors to choose!??!

BTW if you’re not familiar with Rebecca de Ravenel’s enviably fabulous life, I’ll fill you in. She split her childhood between Paris and the Bahamas (WHAT???) and currently lives in Los Angeles. See her home here.

Shop Les Bonbons at The Line, Moda Operandi,

Rent: Armarium for $50!

The Statement Blouse

September 14, 2016

There has been no shortage of inspiring outfits on the streets during NYFW, but the ones that really has me itching to go shopping are these statement blouses by Johanna Ortiz & Rosie Assoulin. If you were to look in my closet right now, you’d see a sad display of button downs, some T shirts, but cute blouses are few and far between. While I could sport a Tee with just about anything, I’m now motivated to add some statement making blouses into the mix for that occasional party or girls’ dinner. MLM, Pixie Market and C/Meo Collection have some great options and are reasonably priced, I’m also obsessed with this Viva Aviva top & this Topshop embroidered top and it’s perfect for transitioning into the cooler weather (both almost sold out).
